The First Smartphone With Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 Processor
Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 836 chipset may debut with Google’s Pixel 2 premium flagship smartphone. The news comes from Fudzilla.com, which hints that Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 836 chipset will debut with Google’s Pixel 2 flagship and not with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, that is set for launch in August.
The new Snapdragon 836 is said to have the same GPU and CPU combo that is available on the outgoing Snapdragon 835. The Snapdragon 835 chipset is currently available inside flagship smartphones like the HTC U11, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the OnePlus 5. However, it will be clocked higher, leading to better performance along with some expected battery life improvements.
Elsewhere, Fudzilla.com has also claimed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, may not feature the Snapdragon 836 processor when it is released on 23 August 2017. Reports claim that Samsung is planning on sticking with the Snapdragon 835 chipset that is also available in both of its Galaxy S8 and S8+ flagship phones.
However, it can be reasonably assumed that most of the high-end flagship smartphones launched in the fourth quarter of this year, will feature the 836 chipsets from Qualcomm.
The Google Pixel 2 has been in focus for some time now as renders of the phone keep surfacing online. One of the renders shows the phone with a dual camera setup and a bezel-less display while another render showed the smartphone with a wide speaker grill near the top.
