After the launch of Nokia 8 flagship the company wants to fill all the price slots with it’s smartphones. For this HMD Global launched Nokia 7 this October- 19 in China, hoping to compete in the mainstream market with the likes of Xiaomi, Huawei and Oppo. The Nokia 7 has a starting price of CNY 2499 in China and it will go on sale from October 24.
Nokia completely changed the design of Nokia 7 compared to other Nokia’s smartphones with Aluminium 7000 series frame, Glass Back and bit changes with the camera design.
The Nokia 7 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and two variants as far as RAM is concerned, 4GB RAM and 6GB. Both have 64GB internal storage. The screen size is 5.2 inches and has 1080P resolution. The screen has a Gorilla Glass 3 protection and the phone is rated for IP54 durability, which means that it is going to be splash-proof but not waterproof. The phone uses Android 7.1 Nougat but in the coming months will be updated to Android Oreo. Just like other Nokia phones, the Nokia 7 too uses clean and stock version of Android. The phone has a 3000 mAh battery inside it.
The Nokia 7 supports Bothie feature, which is ability to use both the front and rear cameras at the same time as in Nokia 8. Unlike the Nokia 8 that has two rear cameras, the Nokia 7 comes with one main camera. This camera uses a 16-megapixel image sensor that has 1.12 micron pixel size. It is paired with a f/1.8 lens. On the front, the Nokia 7 has a 5-megapixel camera using a f/2.0 lens. The optics are adopted from Zeiss and it also has that 360 Audio recording.
For now the launch and sales are limited to China only. It is not clear when it will be available for sale in Indian markets but we hope that it launches soon in India. For the price, most probably it will be launched for around Rs 25,000- Rs 28,000 in India of 4 GB and 6 GB RAM variants.
